Bio and Research

Majid Zamani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. From May 2014 to January 2019, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, where he founded and led the Hybrid Control Systems Group. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles (2012), an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2007), and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology (2005). His honors include the IEEE Control Systems Society George S. Axelby Outstanding Paper Award (2023), the NSF CAREER Award (2022), and an ERC Starting Grant and two ERC Proof of Concept Grants from the European Research Council (2018, 2023, and 2026).

His research focuses on verification and control of cyber-physical systems, secure-by-construction synthesis, information-based control, and compositional analysis and synthesis of interconnected systems.
